The Journey

Our Luggage

We packed a total of six pieces of luggage. Most of it was baby stuff, but we also brought some items that are hard to find in Mexico. I felt like an Indian uncle packing his suitcase full of almonds to take to his relatives in India.

Fun fact: Aeromexico only allows you to bring a free carry-on car seat if you have a baby in it! I wonder if I should’ve gotten a fake baby from Amazon and put it in the seat.

Journey to CBX - 2/1/25

My parents rented a large Dodge Ram pickup truck because we had so much luggage. Luckily, there was hardly any traffic, and they got to hang out with Drashti on the way back since it was her birthday on 2/2. My mom made Pani Puri to share with the family, just in case you were curious.

The Flight

We had a really cool experience when boarding the plane. I usually hate jet bridges because I’d rather be outside and board using the stairs, but this story made me appreciate them. A little girl saw my tiger sweatshirt (which I always wear) and made a roaring sound. She said she likes tigers and showed me her tiger stuffed animal that she carries everywhere. I then showed her a picture of a tiger I took at the San Diego Zoo.

The flight was awesome. We sat in Row 7, so we had plenty of legroom. I watched the Godzilla movie with Bryan Cranston, which was surprisingly entertaining. Sasha compiled some notes from the books we’re reading—Babywise (thanks, Indu and Maitray) and 12 Hours by 12 Weeks (thanks, Kian, Paarul, Anar, and Ravi). After she finished, we watched the TV show 2 Broke Girls, which was really funny.

Trip to Polanco Mexico city

Here is our driver Carlos. He is a boss, he fit all our luggage into the trunk of a Toyota Venza! The trip took about 35 minutes.
